History enrichment should feel magical, not like another project to plan

You want your child to experience history as more than names, dates, and facts. You want stories they remember, questions that lead somewhere, and a little anticipation when the mail arrives.

But making learning feel that rich often takes hours of searching, printing, gathering, and preparing.

Alderwick does that part for you. Each envelope brings together an illustrated story, a hands-on artifact, and optional activities, all carefully planned and ready to enjoy at your family’s own pace.

More wonder for them. Less preparation for you.

Each Star Quest includes a book, poem, piece of music, and one simple activity with convenient resource links in the monthly parent email. Complete the whole quest, choose one part, or simply enjoy the letter and stop there.

Each month, parents receive optional resources in one convenient email, including alternate book suggestions, videos, virtual tours, project ideas, and direct links for the Star Quest.

Created by a mother-daughter team

Alderwick Adventures was created by a mother-daughter team with a shared love of stories, art, history, and meaningful learning.

Allison was homeschooled herself and has taught in both a traditional school setting as well as classes for homeschool students. She writes and develops each adventure with a teacher’s eye for meaningful learning and a lifelong homeschooler’s understanding of what families actually need.

Her mom homeschooled five children over 26 years and creates the original hand-drawn illustrations that bring Pip’s journeys to life.

Together, they create each Alderwick adventure to be historically rich, imaginative, and simple for families to open and enjoy.

FAQs

What ages is Alderwick Adventures for?

Alderwick Adventures is designed especially for ages 6–11. Younger children can enjoy the stories as read-alouds, while older elementary children can often read them independently. The optional activities and alternate book suggestions make it easy to adjust the experience for different ages and reading levels.

Is Alderwick Adventures a history curriculum?

Alderwick is designed as a story-based history supplement rather than a complete curriculum. It works alongside any history program, Morning Basket, or enrichment routine by adding stories, artifacts, and optional activities that help the past feel more memorable.

How much time and preparation does it require?

As much or as little as you would like.

You can simply read Pip’s letter and enjoy the artifact, complete one part of the Star Quest, or use the parent resources to explore the topic more deeply. Everything is already planned, and the optional activities are never required.

What comes with each plan?

Every plan begins with a Welcome Pack, followed by monthly illustrated letters from Pip, hands-on artifacts, Star Quest activities, stars for the map, and parent resource emails.

Both six-month and twelve-month plans also end with a completion reward and special keepsakes.

What is the difference between the plans?

The monthly plan is $14 per month and can be cancelled anytime.

The six-month journey is $75 and includes either the Early or Late American History adventures. This is the most popular option for first-time families.

The twelve-month journey is $150 and includes the complete American History series.

All plans include free U.S. shipping.

Can I choose when the adventure begins?

Yes. You can select a future start month when you order, which makes it easy to begin with a new school term, birthday, or special occasion.

Place your order by the 20th of the previous month to begin in your chosen month.

What if I have more than one child?

Siblings can share the monthly story letter while receiving their own membership materials, Star Quests, stickers, activities, and completion certificate through the sibling add-ons.

This lets children enjoy the adventure together without purchasing a full second subscription.
